How Much Is a Galaxy Worth on TikTok in Canadian Dollars?
What a TikTok Galaxy gift costs in Canadian dollars, what the creator actually receives, how to check prices and your LIVE gift earnings, and who can receive Gifts in Canada.

The Galaxy is one of the virtual Gifts viewers can send during a TikTok LIVE, and one of the most asked about, because it sits between the small one-Coin gifts and the very expensive ones. This guide covers what a Galaxy costs in Canadian dollars, what the creator actually receives, how to check prices and your own earnings, and who can receive Gifts in Canada. TikTok prices change, so every dollar figure here is approximate and dated.
The short answer
A Galaxy costs 1,000 Coins. That is the cost widely reported for the gift panel, and it is the number to remember, because the dollar amount depends on what you paid for your Coins.
When we checked on 27 October 2026, Coin price trackers and coin guides listed a pack of 700 Coins in Canada at roughly CA$10.10 to CA$10.50. At that rate, the 1,000 Coins behind one Galaxy work out to about CA$14 to CA$15, before sales tax. Your price can differ: TikTok sets Coin prices per market, they change with time and promotions, and buying Coins inside the iOS or Android app is often reported to cost more than on TikTok's website because of app store fees. The creator receives noticeably less, as explained below.
What the Galaxy gift is
Gifts are animated virtual items that viewers buy with Coins and send to a host during a LIVE. A Rose costs one Coin and appears briefly in the corner. Bigger gifts such as the Galaxy play a larger space-themed animation over the stream, with the sender's name. TikTok's Virtual Items Policy says Gifts are sent publicly, so others can see who sent what.
The lineup is not fixed. TikTok adds, retires and renames gifts, some appear only in certain regions or during events, and costs can be adjusted. If you cannot find the Galaxy in your gift panel, it may not be offered to your account at the moment.
How to check the current price yourself
The only price that matters is the one your own account sees:
- Open any LIVE and tap the gift icon at the bottom of the screen. Each gift shows its cost in Coins.
- Find the Galaxy by swiping through the panel and note the Coin cost.
- Tap Recharge, or open Balance from your profile menu, to see Coin packs priced in your currency.
- Divide the price of a pack by the number of Coins in it to get the cost per Coin.
- Multiply the cost per Coin by the gift's Coin cost.
For example, if 700 Coins cost CA$10.20, one Coin costs about 1.46 cents and a Galaxy about CA$14.60. That is all a TikTok diamond calculator or coin calculator does; the result is only as good as the price you enter. Coins come in fixed packs, so you may need to buy more than 1,000 to send one Galaxy, and the rest stay in your balance. Sales tax and any foreign transaction fee from your card issuer can change the final amount.
Coins, Gifts and Diamonds: three different things
Most confusion about gift values comes from mixing up TikTok's three virtual currencies. Under the global version of TikTok's Virtual Items Policy (users in Europe have separate Coins and Rewards policies):
- Coins are what viewers buy with money. The price is shown at purchase, and Coins cannot be exchanged for cash.
- Gifts are bought with Coins and sent to a creator. Sales of Gifts are final, and a Gift cannot be turned back into Coins or cash.
- Diamonds are what the creator receives when a Gift is converted. Diamonds cannot be bought or exchanged for Coins or Gifts. Eligible creators can withdraw them for money.
What a creator actually receives from a Galaxy
This is the part most answers skip. A Galaxy that costs a viewer roughly CA$14 to CA$15 is not worth that much to the host. According to the Virtual Items Policy:
- Gifts are converted into Diamonds at a rate TikTok sets from time to time, at its own discretion.
- When a creator withdraws, TikTok calculates the cash amount and shows the rate at that moment.
- Withdrawals are in US dollars, paid to a PayPal or other third-party account in the creator's name, subject to limits and identity checks.
- The creator is responsible for any taxes.
TikTok does not publish a fixed percentage, so any exact "dollars per Galaxy" figure is an estimate. Third-party guides we read put the creator's share at about 30% to 50% of what the viewer spent, which would make a Galaxy worth very roughly CA$4 to CA$7.50 to the host. Treat that as a ballpark; the real figure is the one TikTok shows at withdrawal.
Two Canadian details matter. Because payouts are in US dollars, what reaches your bank depends on the exchange rate and any conversion fee from PayPal or your bank. And money earned from content is generally treated as income in Canada, so keep a record of withdrawals and ask an accountant how to report it.
How to check your LIVE gift earnings
TikTok moves menus between app versions, so names may differ slightly on your phone.
- End-of-stream summary. When you end a LIVE, the summary screen shows stats for that session, which can include gifters and Diamonds received.
- LIVE analytics. In TikTok Studio, the analytics section has a LIVE tab listing past streams with viewers, watch time, new followers and gift totals. Our guide to reading TikTok analytics explains the other numbers.
- Your balance. From your profile, open the menu and look for Balance or LIVE rewards to see your Diamonds and, if eligible, the option to withdraw.
If you cannot find these screens, search TikTok's help centre for "LIVE rewards".
Who can go LIVE and receive Gifts in Canada
- Hosting a LIVE: 18 or older. TikTok raised the minimum age to host a LIVE from 16 to 18 on 23 November 2022, as announced in its newsroom.
- Sending or receiving Gifts: 18 or the age of majority where you live. The Virtual Items Policy applies this to buying Coins, sending Gifts and earning and withdrawing Diamonds. In Canada the age of majority is 18 in some provinces and 19 in others, including British Columbia and Nova Scotia.
- Followers. TikTok has long asked for a minimum follower count before LIVE appears, commonly 1,000. The threshold has varied by region and over time, so check TikTok's help centre for the rule that applies to you.
- Account standing. Recent Community Guidelines violations can cost an account access to LIVE or gifting for a period.
To check, tap the plus button and look along the bottom of the camera screen. If LIVE is there, our guide on how to get TikTok LIVE views in Canada covers timing across Canadian time zones, discovery and collabs, and the first-stream checklist covers setup.
Coin cost of a few popular gifts
These Coin costs are the ones widely listed in third-party gift guides we checked on 27 October 2026; we could not find an official price list from TikTok outside the app. The CAD column uses the same rough rate as above and is only a guide: larger packs can cost less per Coin, and the creator receives less than the viewer pays.
| Gift | Coins | Rough cost to the viewer (CAD) |
|---|---|---|
| Rose | 1 | about 1.5 cents |
| Finger Heart | 5 | about 7 cents |
| Galaxy | 1,000 | about CA$14 to CA$15 |
| Lion | 29,999 | about CA$430 to CA$450 |
| TikTok Universe | 34,999 | about CA$505 to CA$525 |
Confirm the cost in your own gift panel before sending anything large. Gifts are final, so decide on a budget before you recharge.
Gifts, LIVE viewers and where our pages fit
Gifts come from people who enjoy a stream, so the most reliable way to receive more is a LIVE worth staying for. TikTok's LIVE rules also limit how hosts may ask for Gifts. Our free TikTok LIVE viewers page is a good start: its free tool is in demo mode and does not send viewers, so the page works as a guide to free ways of bringing people in. Some creators also use a TikTok live views package so a new stream does not start from zero, or TikTok likes on the videos that announce a stream. These only change how the numbers look. They do not send Gifts, Diamonds, comments or income. We only need your public username or link, never your password; you pay by card through a secure checkout in USD, and delivery timing varies by package. The TikTok hub lists everything else.
